TheInstitute of Organic Optoelectronics was jointly established by JITRI (JiangsuIndustrial Technology Research Institute), the Wujiang Government of Suzhou andProf. Shuit-Tong Lee and his team in July 2016. The Institute is located inFoho, historical and picturesque district of Wujiang. Foho is bounded byJiangsu Province, Zhejiang Province and Shanghai, and is only 45 minutes awayfrom Shanghai Hongqiao Airport.
TheInstitute has over 30,000 m2 of laboratory and office space. Inadditional to the financial support from the JITRI, the Wujiang Government hasalso provided a seed funding of 300 million RMB for the establishment of theInstitute, about half of which are for the acquisition of state-of-the-artR&D equipment and the half for the attracting high quality projects,scholars and talents.
TheInstitute currently has a number of world-renowned experts in organicoptoelectronics as its core members, who are mostly scientists from the Academyof Sciences or Engineering in China or overseas. It aims to become aworld-class research and development center in the area of organicoptoelectronics.
